Recycling and Disposal

Electronic waste (e-waste) is one of the biggest environmental challenges of our time. Like other countries around the world, Ghana is grappling with the challenge of reducing levels of unsafe disposal and processing of e-waste and increasing levels of reuse, recycling, and recovery. In Ghana, according the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) e-waste is growing between 8 and 11 percent each year, making it one of the fastest growing waste streams in the world.

On the other hand, however, e-waste even promises substantial economic benefits to individuals, regions, and nations. Since its inception, GESTA has taken advantage of the plethora of e-waste recycling opportunities and uses e-recycling as a reliable business stream while also achieving environmental aims.

GESTA will work through a network of municipal and industry partners to collect household e-waste through resource recovery centers, drop-off points, and community collection events across the country. GESTA intends to be one of Ghana’s largest e-waste recycling organizations, with large storage space  on our land at Dawa and five secure storage facilities in the regions.

GESTA intends to create collection groups, transfer depots, recycling centers, and landfills, we will focus on providing effective and reliable environmental services and solutions to make proper recycling and waste disposal effortless in Ghana.

We are committed to the preservation of a cleaner, safer, and healthier world where people thrive—not just for today, but for generations to come. GESTA is experienced in meeting sustainability requirements and committed to providing environmentally responsible solutions to meet current and future market recycling and solid waste needs.
